Handling / Storage
Duisburg, the biggest inland port in the world, some 120 vessels tie up at Haeger & Schmidt International every month. Our terminal and outdoor areas, which are out of reach of high water, are a hub where 2 million tonnes of goods a year are handled.

The modern, covered warehouses are equipped with four bridge cranes capable
of lifting up to 40 tonnes. With a reach of 30 metres over the water, goods can
be loaded and unloaded whatever the weather - even from ship to ship.
The
warehouses themselves offer around 8,000 square metres of indoor storage space,
with the special advantage of integrated rail connection and several truck
loading bays. An equally high-grade infrastructure is also available in the
outdoor area: 3 travelling bridge cranes for loads up to 40 tonnes, 13,500
square metres of storage space, 700 metres of quays and 2 kilometres of
marshalling track.
Our
services include the handling of iron and steel products, non-ferrous metals,
paper incl. heavy packaging paper, cellulose and heavy goods, as well as the
stripping and stuffing of containers, packing of steel products, labelling, and
the lashing and securing of short-sea vessels.
